![]() The building process After having everything ready to go I finally started working on the physical look of the machine, but due to some problems, I had to cut down what the machine will look like. Finally, I drew what the pressure plate would at the end look like. Drawing out where the wire will go and such. I planned out the Arudino to be below the Auto-Feeder so the pets wouldn’t bite the Arduino board. The physical look After I had everything planned out, the wiring and coding. Which I will explain in the Challenges section. The coding The coding was easy at first, putting in the statements and the if statements to get the machine working, but then having a problem with how the servo motor will rotate. A very important part of the Auto-Feeder. I also used it as a way to my study how a servo motor works. How I built it The planning When I had the general idea of how the machine works I used tinkercad to make a testing version to see if it can work. The Arduino board will detect it and tell the servo motor to rotate again to stop the food from dispensing. Allowing the food to come out, making the bowl heavier. ![]() ![]() The Arduino will notice this and send a signal to the servo motor to rotate. When the pressure plate is lifted up because the bowl isn’t heavy enough it disconnects the wires. The bowl will be on a pressure plate and below the pressure plate is two connected wire by the pressure plate. What it does The purpose of Auto-Feeder is to dispense food automatically when the food bowl is empty. ![]() Hoping to create a machine that can dispense food automatically. I started to wonder if I can make a very easy version which I can, so I started working on the Auto-Feeder project. Then I remembered that automatic food dispenser that people can buy. It is a daily routine, but I want to know if there is a solution. Every time when the food bowl is empty I have to open the cage and put the food in the cage. Such idea is being globally getting popular due to automatic system.Inspiration The idea of the machine first started with my pet rabbit. The cost of a care taking a pet has been reduced down due to the launching of such machine in the market. It is an excellent idea to protect the pets from starving whenever no one is at home and all are busy with their scheduled routine works and job at office or in business. The food would be served to the pets automatically up to a certain quantity only when time will come. The food for pet has been kept inside a box while leaving home. The pets of home can get food after an interval of half hours and the same can be monitored and the owner of the pet always tension free about the feeding of the pet especially dogs and cats when they are busy at work. The work is about pet feeding machine automatically for a daily minimum period of time of eight hours when all people of nuclear family members are busy at work for the survival in the metro cities and other cities. In todays run-of-the-mill world, not everyone can hire servants for their pets, but it is not possible for them to take care of them all the time and to take care of their food and drink on time-to-time, so we have made a device that will serve food to them on the time which is set by owner. and arts Aditya Gaikwad, B.K birla collage of sci,comm.
